Chénas
[Français]
Once a favourite of Louis XIII, the Chénas vineyards stand on the former site of ancient oak forest and produce the rarest and the most sought-after of the Beaujolais Crus. These are seductive, spicy wines, which age well. Ruby-red in colour, with tints of garnet, the wines are full-bodied with floral, woody notes and a velvety texture. Both Chénas and their hillside neighbour, Moulin à Vent, are top-of-the-range.
Serve at 14°C, with game, meats in rich sauce, strong cheeses.
